A pile driver operating just 150–250 feet from the front door (right in front of Island Provisions) ran from 7am–7pm, and the vibrations were strong enough to shake the entire house. It made it nearly impossible to relax, sleep in, or fully enjoy the YourPad Airbnb as we had expected.

While there was a general disclosure about construction happening downtown, it did not accurately reflect the severity or proximity of this specific situation. Because of that broad disclosure, we were denied a refund. However, other properties farther from the pile driver were much more transparent about expected noise levels and even offered discounts in line with local noise ordinances—something that would have made a big difference in setting expectations.

For $1,000 a night, I strongly recommend staying elsewhere until this construction is complete." (4/5)
